Expert Panel: OpenMRS Implementers: Experiences and Lessons Learned, May 14th to 18th 2012.
To answer these questions, we have been fortunate to obtain access to the knowledge resources of four experts in the field of e-health and OpenMRS implementation. OpenMRS is an open source EMR with a community of hundreds of implementers and developers, that have implemented this system in over 130 sites in 50 countries (http://openmrs.org/about/locations/), including the US, South Africa, Germany, the Philippines, and Chile. Further, both the Rwandan and Kenyan governments have chosen OpenMRS for the implementation of their national eHealth infrastructure.
