Again, obviously blog readers are trying to tell NEHTA something here! I think NEHTA needs to do a little more work to convince the HI Community that they know what they are doing – and more than that that they have all the issues addressed.

Right now 65% of readers give this a 50% or less chance of happening on time.

We will see if anyone is listening.

  1. Whether or not Health Identifiers is implemented by July 2010 is out of the hands of both NEHTA and Medicare. It is in the hands of politicians and will be influenced more by privacy advocates and those who don't understand what this is about than any technical matters. The results of this poll are meaningless because the question was poorly phrased.

  2. Well it was NEHTA / Medicare who have claimed they will get it done by July 2010, and they have not been saying they do not believe the other factors will stop them. You may be right that other forces delay things but I see the question as asking for an overall estimate of the chance of it happening. Your mileage may vary!
