This blog is totally independent, unpaid and has only three major objectives.
The first is to inform readers of news and happenings in the e-Health domain, both here in Australia and world-wide.
The second is to provide commentary on e-Health in Australia and to foster improvement where I can.
The third is to encourage discussion of the matters raised in the blog so hopefully readers can get a balanced view of what is really happening and what successes are being achieved.
The Senate rises this afternoon / evening and does not seem to be considering the Bill today and didn’t over the last two days.

I wonder what happens next as we have been told not much can happen prior to the legislation passing?

That shouldn't pose too much of a problem for the government. They don't want a lot to happen until after the election - keep the decks clear is the order of the day. If they can position the legislation to look like an Opposition obstruction then they can blame Abbott and his cohorts for lack of progress. Heads Rudd wins, Tails Abbott loses.
