Here are the results of the poll.
Was The Clinical Input To The Overall Design And Implementation Of The PCEHR Adequate?
For Sure 2% (1)Probably 2% (1)
Neutral 4% (2)
Possibly 11% (6)
No Way 76% (42)
I Have No Idea 5% (3)
Total votes: 55
A very clear outcome with more than 75% thinking the clinical input was really inadequate.
Again, many thanks to all those that voted!
David.
I guess you would prefer Mr Dutton ran around the country for 6 weeks visiting hospitals and publishing a 2 page press release each week and then calling that health and hospital reform?
ReplyDeleteJust have a look at Labor's legacy of reform initiatives and realise what a mess they have left. We also have a serious issue of hostile, self-interested and unionised public service bureaucrats.
A crazy brave approach would be to wipe the slate clean.
I for one am far more confident in Mr Dutton's quiet and mature demeanour than his last two predecessors.
The real question should be how that clinical input was or was not used. I suspect most would have been brushed aside, my experience in the PCEHR was the clinical leads we're nice to chat to but of little relevance as they don't get technology. I guess the current trash DOHA are implementing shows the sales architect and national design manager are still running the show and as such the clinicians might as well turn up and take the money just don't expect to be taken seriously

ReplyDeleteNope - after 6 months I think we are entitled to know what the plan / his plan is!
David.
I agree. There was reasonable clinical input, but the system as purchased off the shelf, and the nehta architects/design chiefs paid little attention to what was required for quality and safety of care. They were more focussed on their own views and ambitions. DOHA did not understand nor care; they are just a content-free political machine, led by the nose by the big consulting firms.
ReplyDeleteI hope the review comes up with something decent.

ReplyDeleteYou speak in a past tense, I think you will find the architect/design chiefs are still there and digging a deeper hole than ever
