Here are the results of the poll.
Do You Believe The ADHA Has Ensured Adequate Security For The External Devices And Computer Systems That Have Access To The #myHealthRecord System?
Yes 1% (1)No 98% (85)
I Have No Idea 1% (1)
Total votes: 87
Very clear vote – no one can see where the ADHA has lifted its security game!
Any insights on the poll welcome as a comment, as usual.
An OK voter turnout this week.
It must also have been an easy question as only 1/87 readers were not sure how to respond.
Again, many, many thanks to all those that voted!
David.
A side issue but some might find this interesting in a number of ways -

The recent bushfires in our north east region, highlighted the benefits of using #MyHealthRecord during an emergency. Our Community Advisory Councils are helping us to understand more about My Health Record use. Take the survey here: http://bit.ly/mhrecord
That is a bold statement by this PHN. Does anyone know the evidence they attribute the MyHR to? The only thing I can find is a statement on their own website
ReplyDeleteInformation for health professionals
My Health Record and SafeScript have been valuable sources of health information, including medicines and allergies, for treating evacuees and holiday makers who are not regular patients or for whom medical records cannot be accessed
Thanks Anonymous, for the link to the survey. I completed their survey responsibly, as I do actually use the myHR, but it probably was not the response they wanted.
ReplyDeleteThe Murray PHN guys are genuinely nice people but PHNs are just an arm of government (compared with the Divisions of GP they originally evolved from). When it comes to the myHR they are "drinking the KoolAid". If they were inclined to give any criticism to the myHR it would be potentially at the expense of someone's job. So there is no upside for them to apply any critical analysis to this.
This year will be a real test for access control and audit trails. Will those who do not need to view patient records restrain themselves during this emerging pandemic? And how useful with this database be in identifying population spread of the virus....
ReplyDelete@12:15 PM - the survey Q.8 asked:
ReplyDelete8.Do you know if your doctor uses the My Health Record system?
- Yes, does
- No, doesn't
- Don't know
The answer I wanted to give was Yes, Doesn't
.... Yes (I do know), Doesn't (he doesn't use it)
If these people can't design a simple, unambiguous, questionnaire how can they be expected to design a My Health Record system?
Answer: They can't (on both counts)
