Division Overview
Digital strategy – responsible for national digital health design and strategy, underpinned by strong clinical governance and digital health standards.
There could not be a more compelling time for a solutions-focused, innovative and high performing digital leader to join the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA). The Chief Digital Officer plays a pivotal role designing connected digital health solutions that mean Australians have their health in their hands and their health practitioners can make informed decisions. Established and funded by all the governments of Australia the ADHA is charged with taking the Australian health sector into the future and harnessing digital technologies to drive better health outcomes and a sustainable, world class Australian health system.
The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) leads the creative, multi-disciplinary Digital Solutions Division and draws on their collaborative capabilities to shape digital health for Australia. If you are looking for a role with national scope and a user experience focus to make an appreciable difference in the lives of Australians, with an Agency that values strong leadership, connection and flexibility, the Chief Digital Officer role will give you the challenge you are looking for.
Primary Purpose of Position
Operating as part of a Senior Executive Committee and reporting to the CEO, you will help steward the Agency to deliver on its national vision, purpose and strategic objectives. You will steer the architecture design authority to use human-centred design and data insights, local and global experience, trends and innovation, and collaborate broadly with diverse stakeholders to foster an open innovation approach to product design and to inform investment decisions and programs. The end goal is optimisation, useability, sustainability and functionality, with best-practice patient safety, clinical governance and compliance standards.
As a high achieving and values-based digital leader, you will inspire, build capability and guide teams in a complex professional environment, with diverse stakeholders Australia-wide. You will enhance and promote collaboration, continuous improvement, accountability and risk management, so initiatives are strategic, effective and targeted to enable better health outcomes for Australians into the future.

I am not sure I have seen much of what is described in the Position Description actually happening or how much of this is in the ADHA’s gift?
As for “shaping digital health in Austraila” I am not so sure!
What do others think. Is this $300K well spent or not?
David.
If it popped up last week and closes 23 Nov (2 weeks exposure) it is reasonable to assume the successful candidate has already been 'selected'. Therefore I don't think I should waste my time applying?
ReplyDeleteThe poisoned chalice is perfectly described here:
ReplyDelete"The Chief Digital Officer plays a pivotal role designing connected digital health solutions" ....
... and that does not .... "mean Australians have their health in their hands and their health practitioners can make informed decisions."
What a waste of $350,000.
Is there any information publicly available on the MyGP system currently being developed by Services Australia?
ReplyDeleteAustralia’s Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan, referred to on page 16 of the The Albanese Government's 2022 - 2023 Portfolio Budget Papers, is providing funds to:....
.... "allow the Australian Digital Health Agency to build data linkages between the My Health Record and the MyGP system currently being developed by Services Australia".
Not heard any detail for a while, it is manipulative at best, at a policy level it links directly with less than truthful Medicare Rort scandals the department is pushing.
