AusHealthIT Poll Number 653– Results – 16th October, 2022.

Here are the results of the poll.

In General, Are Australian Organisations Collecting And Retaining Excessive Amounts Of Private Personal Data?

Yes                                            37 (93%)

No                                              3  (7%)

I Have No Idea                           0 (0%)

Votes: 40

A very clear outcome suggesting that there is just too much data collection going on!

Any insights on the poll are welcome, as a comment, as usual!

A poor number of votes. and a strong majority outcome.

0 of 40 who answered the poll admitted to not being sure about the answer to the question!

Again, many, many thanks to all those who voted!

David.

Re this week's poll "Should Telstra Health Sponsor A "Brilliant Men In Digital Health" Award Well As The Current "Brilliant Women In Digital Health" Award As At Present?"

What exactly is Telstra trying to achieve with this PR stunt?

It would have been nice to have an option:

Neither

Re This weeks poll. Shouldn't the Telstra Award be transgender-neutral to be all inclusive and non-discriminatory by embracing the him, her, they, she, he, them, non, all?

What exactly is Telstra trying to achieve? Simply put it creates a brand perception that Telstra is the dominant leader in digital health, an old marketing trick - provide and promote industry awards, they are as meaningful as being an honorary member of a book review club, but the currency for Telstra is huge as the bestow titles upon people and companies that open revenue opportunities.

Don’t get me started on the whole demeaning “look at the little woman succeeding all by herself” movement. We are licking the Fax machine is a man.

It suggests Telstra are not focussing on their core IT duties but virtue signalling which in reality is likely to impress our current woke government, but in the end the question has to be does it work, is it safe and compliant with standards. Not something that seems to attract much attention, but computers are anything but woke, they want it correct down to the bit level and it matters not that there is a ministerial directive to make it happen...
