AusHealthIT Poll Number 785 – Results – 16 March 2025.

Here are the results of the poll.

Are The Terrible Floods In Northern NSW Being Managed Reasonably Well By State And Commonwealth Governments?

Yes                                                                    26 (90%)

No                                                                       2  (7%)

I Have No Idea                                                   1 (5%)

Total No. Of Votes: 29

A clear outcome with most feeling Government is actually helping. This would make a change!!!

Any insights on the poll are welcome, as a comment, as usual!

Fair voter turnout.

1 of 29 who answered the poll admitted to not being sure about the answer to the question!

Again, many, many thanks to all those who voted!

David.

I'm slightly off-topic, but I did not want to distract from Monday's excellent post. This emerging trend needs wider discussion, David. Governments are failing in their duty, and there seem to be many questionable costs. Recent pressure is coming from the US ( or is it Lessor Canada or the northern states of Mexico) on PBS and GST as part of Trump and Vance Tarrif's toss.

I have an issue with you current question and its around "Sensible Safeguards" as do you trust government to decide on what they are. Given their recent history of human rights abuses and mandates I certainly do not. The sensible safeguard is that it's illegal to kill someone and you can only administer substances that may hasten their demise if there is clear uncontrolled pain and distress and nurses in the ward/hospice have to be happy that is the case.

In Canada "MAID" has become one of the leading causes of death and is applied for conditions that are not immediately life threatening, such as mental illness, paraplegia etc - often offered or even suggested, without a request from the patient. eg "Where is my stair lift, I have been waiting a long time" - offered medically assisted dying as an alternative!

Allowing government to interfere in this is crazy, so I voted no.
