HIMSS Appoints Tim Kelsey, Senior Vice President, International Analytics
As Senior Vice President, Kelsey will lead the HIMSS international analytics team that develops the world’s most trusted and effective measures of digital maturity for health providers and ecosystems.
Hal Wolf, President and CEO, HIMSS, said, “Tim is an international leader in supporting sustainable, high-quality healthcare through enabling technologies—improving clinical decision making and consumer empowerment. He joins a world-class team committed to helping realize the full health potential of every human, everywhere.”
In 2018, Kelsey co-founded and was inaugural chair of the Global Digital Health Partnership, which brings together 30 governments and the World Health Organization to collaborate on policy development.
Kelsey has been CEO of the Australian Digital Health Agency since 2016. In that role, he has led development of Australia’s National Digital Health Strategy and also implemented the national expansion of My Health Record, which provides 22 million Australians with mobile access to their key health information.
Prior to his role in Australia, Kelsey worked as National Director for Patients and Information in NHS England and launched a number of national digital health initiatives to promote better access to health and care, as well as improved interoperability of health services.

What exactly does this mean?
As a historian and journalist, Mr Kelsey obviously knows very little about healthcare and technology. I suspect he knows even less about analytics.
And what the heck is "digital maturity"?
I think there are some question around the driver for tax payer funds going to HIMMS recently. Other than that I think we may just have given interoperability a chance
HIMMS looks a lot like Scientology's first aid department. Interesting model. I like many are just happy to see this chapter in Australian ehealth come to a conclusion
I see Tim lobbying for NIB and others to get hold of everyone’s health data, healthcare business data, personnel files. The HIMMS analysts role is simply a title brought and paid for by the insurance industry. I hope I am wrong but the pattern would suggest a likelihood
Australian taxpayer dollars at work. Got himself a new job at his mate's place after sponsoring his mate's conference. The scent of that is unpleasant.
