AusHealthIT Poll Number 526 – Results – 10th May, 2020.

Here are the results of the poll.

Do You Believe The Government's COVIDSafe App Will Actually Work To Deliver Rapid Contact Tracing For COVID-19 Virus Infection?

Yes 24% (30)

No 56% (71)

I Have No Idea 20% (25)

Total votes: 126

It seems that a majority feel the app won’t actually work, while a fair few were unsure what we think.

Any insights on the poll welcome as a comment, as usual.

A great number of votes.

It must also have been a very hard question with 25/126 readers were not sure how to respond.

Again, many, many thanks to all those that voted!

David.

Simply due to the system is not yet functioning as a whole and those parts deployed seem riddled with issues. It is all hidden behind a cloak of BS.

Strange how there is little talk of it at present, bit like AI - over blown cheap tricks designed to impress until the call to duty is made.

It does appear to have become a bit of a anti-climax. Top marks for idea, poor marks for marketing and execution.

Making the source code available would have been a good step. (there have been far to many "experts" making misleading claims about this app).

What I would very much like to see published are all the process and procedures behind this.
What happens if there is a data spill? how are system identified, traced and sanitised? AWS is not the problem nor is sovereignty, it is always down to the operator (APS). The APS is sloppy at best and lazy as standard.

All,

The DTA released the source code to GITHub on Friday.

Readers should be aware the Covert safe app requires an update to resolve a number of discovered issues.

Does anyone know if DTA has released the server code? The app code is all very interesting but does not show ‘what the government does with your data, only the server code will help understand this. I am sure it is an oversight on Morrison’s part considering where all the concerns are pointing.

If the app has an update, then any count of apps downloaded should be reset from the date and time of update availability.

I bet the government just issues the number of downloads from first availability.

The number of current apps in the wild is probably now very small.

Sounds a lot like the MyHR stats.

To answer the question: "Does anyone know if DTA has released the server code?" I have not seen any information on the server side code.

This lot are as transparent as a brick wall.
