A Reader Request To Complete A Survey on the AMT Provided by NEHTA.

I had an email a little while ago asking could I ask those who are interested to respond to the NEHTA Survey on the Australian Medicines Terminology.
Here is the link to the page:
There are only a few days left to go so if you want to maybe suggest some changes - get weaving!

There comes a point where you give up giving feedback, because it just gets ignored. I tried very hard to give constructive feedback on AMT as long as 3 years ago, and have flown to Sydney at my own expense to attend meetings that were discussing it.

All feedback has been ignored and AMT remains unsuitable for decision support. As most health IT people have realised that NEHTA/DoHA have positioned themselves and the PCEHR as the only funding source in town, its unlikely to get any honest feedback while they control the pellet dispensor.

My feedback is that its an enormous waste of money and needs to repositioned as a decision support resource as its number one priority. Currently we would be better off granting a blanket license for a commercial terminology that actually does something useful.

All I can say at this time is that I hope like hell the Senators take a careful note of Andrew McIntyre's comment.
