Introduction to My Health Record for Psychologists
Overview
My Health Record is a secure online summary of an individual’s health information and is available to all Australians. Healthcare providers authorised by their healthcare organisation can access My Health Record to view and add patient health information.
The Australian Digital Health Agency will be delivering an interactive webinar outlining how My Health Record can support psychologists and their clients, and will include:
· an overview of My Health Record and benefits,
· privacy and security features,
· consumer privacy, access and controls,
· how health professionals can connect to My Health Record,
· resources, and
· an interactive Q&A session.

Dr Kathy Rainbird holds a PhD in Behavioural Science in Relation to Medicine and is a Manager of Education and Adoption at the Australian Digital Health Agency. Kathy is based in Western Australia and has been working with Aboriginal Medical Services and other healthcare providers both across WA and nationally, training them in the benefits, features and clinical use of My Health Record and other digital health tools.

It seems to me that in a desperate search for relevance we a really moving way to far away from the concept of a patient record for use by GPs, specialists and Pharmacists. Its only a matter of time before they move on the vets, accountants, lab technicians and then in desperation the lawyers and accountants.
Psychologists deal with awake conversant patients in their rooms and I struggle to really follow just what aspects of their health the patient could not describe better than the incomplete and likely out of date #myHR.

Where exactly could information relevant to psychologists go (or already be) in MyHR?
Only GPs can upload a shared health summary, I doubt that X-Rays, MRI, colonoscopies, blood tests etc are of much interest.
It's not likely that a psychologist would want to put anything into MyHR even if there was a place.
I think the ADHA is confusing activity with progress.
