The NEHRS Vendor Test Environment Is Going Up And Down Like A Yo-Yo.

It seems something is seriously broken and to date no explanations offered.

Messages like this daily for the last 2 days:

"Due to issues experienced with DHS-Medicare HI Services, Provider Portal and Consumer Portal channels are unavailable. PCEHR SVT support apologises for any inconvenience this may cause."

Outages are lasting hours.

Really lousy value for money for the public and frustration for the vendors developing software!

Just hopeless.

David.

ps. I am told some of the issues are in part due to some changes being made by way of patches to try and make things better that may be missing the mark due to lack of testing etc.

D.

And the update from 5:45pm. (Outage Started 10:07am)

"DHS Medicare are continuing with the restoration steps for unplanned HI Services outage reported earlier in the Software Vendor Test (SVT) environment.

PCEHR SVT support apologises for any inconvenience this may cause."

What nonsense!

David

And on Nov 21, 2012. 9:00 am.

"Due to issues experienced with DHS-Medicare Test HI Services, Provider Portal and B2B Register PCEHR (Assisted Registration) service are unavailable

DHS Medicare are continuing with the restoration steps for unplanned Test HI Services outage in the Software Vendor Test (SVT) environment.

PCEHR SVT support apologises for any inconvenience this may cause."

Said to be fixed at 10:15am

Complete and delivered as promised at the expected time (a time not stated nor released previously) .. accept for the beta testing of completeness, quality, performance, error handling and stability; nor testing at wave sites with real users; nor hardware, database and software updates; nor re-testing system after applying updates and hardware changes before going live again.

It's like buying a car accept the tires are flat and the pump isn't available for 2 months, you need a fuel which no one supplies yet and the steering wheel and seats are yet to be designed. Despite these problems they still call it the most modern car made to date.

No wonder the on going support costs are so great. They budgeted for more work fixing many problems and finishing the work they started.

All I can say and will continue to say, who is accountable when it comes to these projects?

The Tax Payer that's who - it is on our $

Privacy Paul?

Please illuminate "How is the taxpayer accountable for these projects"?

Shouldn't the "taxpayer" be holding "their" elected representatives "accountable" for holding the "unelected bureaucrats" (NEHTA/DOHA) ”accountable” for these projects and how taxpayers precious dollars are being spent?

So if we're talking in these long chains of “accountability reasoning”, then I understand and agree with your statement, otherwise I'm somewhat bemused.

And if we’re both in agreement, I would hazard a guess you would also agree the latter forum for accountability currently at “Senates Estimates” hearings is absent in the extreme, so while we wait to see if the next election demonstrates any electoral actions of accountability in removing incompetent and dysfunctional elected representatives/senators and see if a new citizen Jane or Joe can drag Jane Halton and Peter Fleming over the coals numerous times in the name of ”accountability”.

Yes you have captured my accountability reasoning very well and agree with your thoughts on Senate Estimates.

I won't start on elected officials and the role they play... as we all know, it is hard to make a change at this level of government as they are all protected by the "Safe" seat syndrome (no matter what side of the aisle they sit), with no accountability. Make a mistake here and we'll move you over there to do it again...Any suggestions??

"Every nation gets the government it deserves."

(Joseph de Maistre, 1811)

Suck it up you (net) taxpayers, the great unwashed cretins of this nation!

The (net) “tax-takers” are thoroughly enjoying the fruits of your "Labor".
